2021 is the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan. Based on a new development stage, to fully follow a new development philosophy and

foster a new development pattern, Guangdong will continuously deepen the investment cooperation with the MNCs during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and promote the engagement of MNCs in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and strategic industrial clusters. Hence, the People's Government of Guangdong Province will host the 2021 Annual Conference on Multinational Corporations Investment in Guangdong in Guangzhou from 27th to 29th September this year. The Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province is the organizer of the conference. On the basis of the previous China (Guangdong) - U.S. Investment Cooperation Conference and China (Guangdong) - Europe Investment Cooperation Conference, infused with more transnational elements, the conference will be another grand event and build a high-level exchange and cooperation platform for MNCs of developed economies.

Currently, Guangdong is making all-out efforts to promote the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, to support Shenzhen to build a pilot demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics, to promote Guangzhou to revitalize historical

districts to achieve new progress via the "Four New Highlights" strategy, to promote Hengqin & Qianhai to further open up and develop, to

accelerate the development of modern industries, to build up a world-class advanced manufacturing base, to create a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment, and to promote the achievement of a higher level of opening up. All will unleash enormous business opportunities for MNCs' further development in Guangdong.

The conference will focus on the promotion of 20 strategic industrial clusters of Guangdong, explore the opportunities for MNCs to participate in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and strategic industrial clusters, and discuss boosting investment cooperation and development under the RCEP mechanism.
