Mr. Xu Bing, Deputy Secretary-General and Spokesman of the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), Deputy Director General of China Foreign Trade Centre, and Dr. Harley Seyedin, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China (AmCham South China), signed a global partnership agreement on October 15 in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, marking the official establishment of the cooperative relationship between the two parties. As part of the Agreement, AmCham South China will help American Companies exhibit and sell their US-made products throughout China and at the Canton Fair.

According to Mr. Xu Bing, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the 130th Canton Fair, fully recognizing the important contributions that the Canton Fair has made to serve international trade, promote internal and external connections, and promote economic development since the establishment of the Canton Fair 65 years ago. On October 14, Premier Li Keqiang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. He addressed that the Canton Fair has gone through 65 years of glorious history and has achieved remarkable results. Mr. Xu Bing further pointed out that the characteristics of this Canton Fair are reflected in the six "new" characters. The first is the new theme of the domestic and international dual circulation; the second is to create a new platform for the Pearl River International Trade Forum; the third is an online and offline merged new format; the fourth is a new initiative to focus on boutique exhibitions in offline exhibitions; the fifth is to establish the new structure of the Canton Fair Organizing Committee; the sixth is the mascot that was launched for the first time to highlight its new image. Mr. Xu Bing hopes that through the cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce in South China, we can provide better services for American companies participating in the Canton Fair and better promote in-depth exchanges between Chinese and American companies.

AmCham annual publication 2021 Special Report shows that 94% of US companies are optimistic about Chinese market.
